Oracle hosting JDK on Akamai. No SSL available. Is this secure?
Post Body

I recently formatted my windows partition and I was getting ready to download and install JDK. After finding the relevant download on the Oracle website, I was greeted with "ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID" thrown by my Chrome browser when the download tried to launch. From what I understand Oracle has also begun hosting some of the yum repository on Akamai as well. Could be being paranoid, but I'm not all that comfortable downloading a binary installer (being windows) from a third party who isn't using SSL or at least giving me the option to (HTTPS Everywhere). Just wondering what the knowledgeable folk of /r/asknetsec think about this? Perhaps JDK on my arch partition only?
