Security regarding Android TV box

Hello everyone. I recently bought a bootlegged (or jailbroken) android TV box. I read online that these can sometimes come loaded to the gills with spy/malware. Thus I assume putting this on the same wifi I use for everything else would be a dumb move. Do I get another router for security ? What would my options be here? Iām pretty green when it comes to NETSEC so my apologies if this is a dumb question. Thanks !
