What do Independent Contractors do during this time

Hey NYC people, Hope everyone is staying safe as possible during these conditions!

I have a question about single independent contractors, wondering if there are any govt funds for them? I know there is the, Employee Grant Retention for Individuals, but does that apply for someone like me? I've been freelancing for over 3 years fairly steady with a company, and photographing on the side. Tax is not withheld from my paychecks. Am I able to apply for Employee Grant Retention for Individuals? Also is this something I would have to pay back with no interest? or is there something else that I need to apply for that I don't know about? I know applications are due April 3rd. Would love any input.
