I am a grad student moving to new york, and since I'm on a budget I wanted to get all my non-bedbug carrying furniture pieces. Like a cabinet, nightstand, and dresser from used furniture websites like Free and for sale on Facebook, or Curbed, or Furnishare, or Craigslist. My worry is how I will get it across the city, I heard ZipCar is a great idea (I can drive and have an out of state drivers license), and that Uhaul isn't really a thing in Manhattan. Or should I stick with the slightly more expensive used furniture options that can deliver like AptDeco, Chairish, and Move Loot? Does anyone have experience with this?
