Car registration and insurance information help.

So I moved away from nyc a few years ago and change my license to a different state, but I recently went back there to visit for Chinese new year. And got some mail that wasn’t forwarded. One of them said I never renew my license and insurance information. And now I owe them $75 and a suspension until 8 months later.

I thought I already did the correct steps when changing license and insurance in my current state and they let them know. Do I still need to make this payment? And send them my new registration even though I don’t have the old information on it to even connect the dots?

I moved 3 times since I left New York. So it’s very different I would imagine on their record.
