I'll be visiting NYC in May for 2 weeks for work. Since I've already been to the city multiple times before, I would like to do a small trip away from the city. I've already been to Boston and Philadelphia last year. I was initially mainly thinking of DC, which I have visited only once as a kid 10 years ago. However, since I'm from overseas I thought it might be nice to do something that's more off the beaten path, because I feel like an opportunity like this wouldn't arise any time soon again. So maybe something more "American", something that most European tourists wouldn't consider. I'm really up for anything, it could be nature, hiking, beaches, or other cities. I would prefer not to drive, since I'm not really confident in driving in the US, though I could if something is really worth doing. Also, preferably not too expensive, like under $500 dollars or so.
