Anyone else been seeing actual 'security guards' posted by MTA subway turnstyles/gates?
Post Body

Lately I've been noticing actual 'security guards' standing around by subway turnstyles and gates. Clearly this is to attempt to address farebeaters, but I'm curious about the rationale of using security guards. Where are the NYPD? Don't tell me there aren't enough NYPD to do this? And...does anyone seriously believe that these poorly-paid, poorly-trained security guards are actually going to do anything, if they see someone jumping the turnstyle? And it sure ain't gonna stop a farebeater...just cuz they see a security guard there. Yet another colossal waste of our MTA rider/taxpayer dollars.
