What happens when NYC gets a LOT of snow? 12-15 inches seem to be forecast for early next week?
Post Body

Monday and Tuesday next week, my phone thinks we're going to get 12-15 inches of snow. It could prove wrong as we get closer, but right now it thinks 4-5" on the 6th and 8-10" on the 7th.

For those who remember big snows here, what's it like?

I vaguely remember getting big snows like that as a kid in Chicago, but I don't think I've experienced quite that much as an adult in a major city. Does the city stop? Do subway lines still mostly run fine? Cross country skiing down Broadway? The entire city turns out for highly specific snow sculpture competitions of pizza rat?

Edit: this forecast is on Apple Weather for fidi… others in the thread are seeing no such thing with other sources so idk if there’s some glitch or wtf. I’m still having fun imagining the snow regardless of if it happens or not.

7pm edit: Apple Weather has massively revised down, and is now saying 1-3 inches on Monday and nothing at all Tuesday? I know a week out isn’t trustworthy but that’s a HUGE shift from what it had been saying all day. I know better than to get overly hopeful for a big snow but damn!
