I posted a question the other day and got a friendly response so decided to try again.

I am curious seeing as I have seen and heard both good and bad things about the dating culture there, including: that it is especially transactional and commitmentphobic, even relative to US dating culture generally and: that NYC is particularly misogynistic, as evident in its culture of street harassment. I'd appreciate any thoughts or insights- and no, I don't expect anything unanimous. I am wondering whether this is true and what theories people might have to explain it.
