My mother is in an ancient rental apartment, surrounded by co-op updated ones. She has a fuse box that has blown out twice in 2 weeks and is disabled. Wondering what it will take to get the management company to update her with a circuit breaker.

Basically the title, I'm her health proxy and aid. The entire apartment (1BR) is on one fuse except for the kitchen. If I was to travel anywhere and the fuse would blow, she'd be screwed. Wondering what i can do to help leverage the update. City services? ADA reference to the management company? All of the above? I can only imagine the terrible scenario if I was to travel even to another borough for a few hours and she was stuck in the apartment with no cross ventilation, in pitch black, when she has partial blindness and respiratory issues.

Any sincere advice would solidly be appreciated.

Thank you
