Central Park road usage sections?

Was walking down the road in Central Park and the left side is for walking, the middle for biking and the right side doesn’t say anything. I was walking on the right side and a bicyclist came up to me and started cursing me out for being on the right side. I was so shook. Was I in the wrong?
