My mom is turning 70 and visiting me in New York for the first time in a year. I have been so busy and out of the loop on what there is to do this month. She's from Calfornia, and a laid back intellectual hippie type woman - not a wax museum and dinner at the Cheesecake Factory type-mom.
My mom has ecclectic tastes despite her age and is up for adventure, shows, comedy, delicious unusual restauants with affordable prices. I'm going to take her to the Met and the Natural History Museum and some other classic shit - but am looking for activities that are off the beaten path.
We also love to walk around and discover new neighborhoods.
What are some great 'cool mom' activites I can check out for her visit?
