This is a genuine question, not meant to be sarcasm. I have visited the city once years ago, and I did enjoy it but spent a ton of money and that was only for a few day vacation.
It seems like most of the draw of NY is the multitude of dining and drinking options and walkability of the city, but it also seems like that dining comes at a cost.
I may be wrong, but I don't believe New York has amazing weather so it's not like there are tons of things to do outdoors for free except something like Central Park.
I actually just saw a comment on a thread here from somebody that said "all New Yorkers are able to do these days is work and sit on the subway" or something to that effect.
Don't worry, I'm not another broke person expecting to move to New York, I just wonder what it's like to live in the city without much money, it seems like it would just be a struggle.
