I got some water from a soft drink/water/kebob peddler near central park. The water in the poland spring bottle was cloudy and he charged me $11 for it (I fell for it—I didn’t ask how much before paying with my phone or for a receipt—I only realized when the charge showed up on my card statement)
My question is: should you avoid these peddlers because of this?
And, assuming you do barter an acceptable price, is the water they sell even safe? It was cloudy and I started to wonder if he somehow obtained empty bottles and somehow resealed them with tap…or if it got contaminated flexing while floating in his cooler all day. Should you avoid these peddlers even for something basic like water?
Im guessing I should ALWAYS ask for the price and receipt from now on?
