Grad student here. I'm looking for places in the city that are doing work or research focused on improving access to health services or promoting better health outcomes for more people. Preferably based in Manhattan or the Bronx. Bonus points if they have a focus on mental/behavioral health.
I've been reaching out to places I can potentially help out in during the summer even if they don't have any listings, just cos I haven't really seen openings for student to do the kind of work I wanna do (or if there are, they're remote work, and I'd prefer going to an office or out in the field).
Haven't had much luck so far though (ngl most of my emails just didn't get responses lol). I've also tried googling every possible combination of words to find more places that are doing this kind of work, but even when I deep (and I mean deep) dive, a lot of the same stuff pops up (mostly health insurance companies that I'm not interested in). I can't imagine though that there's a shortage of people doing this kind of work in NYC. I'm thinking maybe there are much smaller organizations/centers/companies that don't easily show up in google searches? Would appreciate any leads--could be in the public, non-government or private sectors. Thanks so much!
