Hello!
I'm a European (female) visiting New Orleans for the first time next week. I was initially excited for the trip, but as the time gets nearer I'm getting more and more anxious about the safety issues, as I've read that New Orleans has a pretty high crime rate. I was wondering if anyone has any advice for an anxious traveller- I'm staying in the French Quarter which I hear is safe and I would like to explore the city a bit after dark- especially since in January it's getting dark at 5.30pm!
Wife and I will be there next week 18 to 22. Family member lives there so I've been there many times. Its nowhere near as bad as they say. However they are some dicey places at night I wouldn't want to walk alone at night. Use Ubers...
