Hi, all! I've been enjoying your fabulous city for 5 days (leave in 2 days). In fact, I come here twice a year because I love it so much.
Anyhoodles, I want to hit Magazine Street for some shopping today/tomorrow. Because I'm old and my feet hurt, I'd like some suggestions on which blocks of Magazine would be the best for shopping because I doubt I can handle the entire stretch up and back. I plan to walk there from my hotel (1000 block of Chartres), while is do-able for me, but I'll probably grab a taxi or ride-share back.
I'll be shopping for myself (jewelry, art, clothing, makeup) and picking up some Christmas gifts for friends and family, if that info helps with recommendations. Not necessarily looking for shop recommendations so much as tips like "hit the section of Magazine between X and Y streets."
Many thanks!
[edit: Looking at some maps, I'm now surmising that the walk from my hotel to Mag street might be longer than I can deal with. Might need to hop on a streetcar or take a taxi there, as well as on the way back. But that's fine. I'd hate to walk there and then not have any energy to shop!]
