Post Body
I am staying with a friend on Royal Street at the end of the month. I prefer finding more local spots that tourists may not find that are great. I have done some research on breweries and restaurants, so looking to see if there is anything I might be missing from using Google Fu!
These would be great guidelines:
- Local spots that tourists would not normally find that the locals love
- Bizarre places to visit/eat - as an example, I ate in a jail cell in Madison, Alabama
- New Orleans specific foods - I know Cajun and Creole and muffuletta are standard, but are their other dishes that are uniquely New Orleans? as examples, Nashville is known for hot chicken, Buffalo, NY for wings and Beef on Weck, Louisville is known for a hot brown (open faced turkey sandwich with brown gravy)
- Food I can't easily find elsewhere
Absolutely anti-chain.
TIA for any help. Cheers!
