Hello, I would like to ask a question in case someone can help me.
I am a non-binary person, but for a series of reasons, it is currently not very viable for me to take hormone treatment according to what I want.
On the other hand, for a few months, I have noticed that the hair on my head has been falling out more than usual. I have visited a couple of hair clinics. In one of them, they offered me the option of trying an oral treatment since they suspect I may have androgenetic alopecia. I am not sure about this diagnosis because, although my hair has fallen out more in recent months, I believe it has been due to stress and anxiety. Supposedly, the treatment would include oral minoxidil (which I don't want to take because I don't want more hair to grow on my body, only on my head) and dutasteride, which is one of the antiandrogens usually prescribed for these cases.
Here is my question:
I would like to know if taking only dutasteride, probably at a low dose and without estrogen, would result in any changes to my body, or if I could try to increase the dose on my own to a certain point to achieve some feminizing or androgenizing effects. Additionally, I want to understand if there could be negative side effects. I am aware that if I do not take estrogen, I cannot eliminate all the testosterone from my body. However, I would like to try to reduce it to a level that is not dangerous and that might produce at least a slight effect in the direction I am aiming for. As a non-binary person, I am not looking to fully transition (it's a bit complicated, sorry).
Finally, I would like to know if dutasteride is better than finasteride and what an appropriate dose could be in my case, even if it is just general guidance. I weigh 66 kg and am 182 cm tall.
Additionally, I have the ability to get blood tests whenever necessary to check my testosterone levels.
Sorry for the long post and thank you very much.
