So this is a weird question.
I recently got into a debate with someone from what I can only assume is an African country (this was online so i’m not sure). He called Egyptians (modern day) are colonizers “I just call you guys colonizers”.
As an Egyptian I find this very offensive as if someone is doubting my ethnicity and subsuming it under their own. There are so many different African cultures and there’s such a rich diversity. Why is it always Egyptian culture that’s in question especially when every country has been colonized. What is an appropriate response in these discussions?
