Where should I get my first tattoo?

I already have the design picked out. I've thought about for about 3 months and I'm ready to get my first tattoo.
Question is- where is the most practical place to get it? I'm inclined to put it on my back shoulder, but wondering if anyone else has any ideas? Thanks
