i've seen a lot of comments online saying that many men aren't open/vulnerable with women as it's later weaponized against them. i'm sure it looks different person to person, but i'm wondering what are some examples of this? is it really as common as i'm seeing online?
something like straight up verbal abuse ('you're weak', etc) is obvious, but there must be other things going on too that are more due to biases we have as women or how we were raised. curious about perspectives and experiences on this topic
It's commonly weaponized against men even by partners to either call into question their judgment or dismiss negative reactions. I've personally had the fact my father abandoned me used to dismiss my feelings in a disagreement. There's no reason that should have been brought up, but it hurts to have something said in private to be used like that.
I'm fortunate to have good friends that I can share my insecurities with and know they wouldn't willingly use them against me, I've only had one lover that can say the same.
