Hello everybody,
It is my first time posting here and I'd love to hear and see what some people have to say who have been through this. At the moment I am very much doubting and having trouble finding some good information about the subject.
I am 23 years young, and have never been the person to enjoy cities apart from holiday trips etc. I have grew up in a small town, very much countryside. Some years ago I decided to follow through with what I really wanted for myself and for my career. In which I moved to Germany, to the Alps, a place I've really started to call home. I have a good stable job, with colleagues I enjoy spending time with, building an amazing network at the same time as well.
As of recent I have gotten quite an significant offer that might give my career a massive boost. However, as with any job offers, there are some positives, as well as downsides. One of which, it is in Vienna. Being someone who has not grown up in, or near metropolitan cities, I am very much on the fence whether or not I should take the leap.
Yes I know there are other things that come into play with moving, and there are some things I will be putting away that I am personally enjoying a lot currently. It is not that I need to move, I am very happy as where I am now. Although this offer could significantly change my career in a positive way. Is it worth the risk, and taking on a new challenge? Or should I stay and be happy on a personal level and see where time takes me.
In short, my question to any of you is, is it smart to move to a new city for my career? Although I am, as of now, very much not a city person.
PS, I have never visited Vienna and am planning to do so soon.
