What is a reasonable amount of time to visit family for the holidays?
Post Body

I go back home every Christmas. It’s not that I don’t enjoy my family, but I don’t like spending a ton of time with them for the holidays. They usually guilt trip me when I try to leave, so it’s always a struggle.

I live one state over and the drive is around 5 hours. I usually spend two nights and then leave.

I never know what is a reasonable amount of time to visit. I haven’t had time off in a while, so I’m looking forward to having time at home to finally declutter and clean my place. And maybe finish Elden Ring lol.

I live 9 hours from my family. I have to drive it in 2 days if I am driving by myself (autism), making it 4 travel days. So, I come here max twice a year (most years once), and stay maybe 2 weeks.

When I lived 6 hours away, I stayed less than a week, and I would be home a few times a year. When I lived 2 hours from here, just a couple days but I came home every four-six weeks.

The biggest question is how long do you want to stay? My length is about logistics. You live close enough to do what you want to do.
