When should I text him after the first date? (Already texted straight after went back home)

I (F) went out on a few dates, one of which I actually liked and would want to have a deeper connection with. He asked for my number when we hugged goodbye and texted me saying "this is my number". He said he had a good time and good conversations. I said let me know when he wants to meet up again.

I see he updated his dating profile today (I pointed out that one of the photos showed his ex's dog) :/

I really like him and think he's a real catch. Don't want to let him slip away! Should I text him first again and when?
