The other night I was at a bar in a city near my town. I went there solo because I’ve done it in the past, and also it was a Friday night so why not. I drive into the city because on street parking is after 9pm. When I go out I only have 2-3 drinks because I wanna stay sober enough to get home (I’m a 5ft11 male that weighs 170 lbs). I also do that because I’d like to stay on my toes just in case something happens. Something that I’ve learned going to bars (I’m 23) is that there are people going out looking for fights when they go out.

While I was at the bar, I came out of the bathroom and was walking over to the outdoors patio because I wanted to rip my vape. I was squeezing through everybody because it was wicked drowsy.

All of a sudden, I made eye contact with a group of girls. Two of them looked at me, started smiling, and held up they drinks and we did cheers with each other. 3 or 4 of all introduce themselves to me. We made conversation briefly. 3 of them walked to the bar to grab a drink while I was stuck with a brunette that started the cheers with me. We talked for a little bit and I eventually asked for her number, she unfortunately had a boyfriend.

Then, I recognized that one of the girls in her group was someone that goes to my gym. I told the girl that I was currently talking to that I recognized her friend. We both agree that she’d introduce me to her. She introduces me to the girl and ended up talking to her for a couple of minutes. I was about to ask for her number or Snapchat but she got distracted by the friends and she walked over towards them.

I chose to leave her alone because I didn’t wanna come across as desperate or creepy. While I was talking to her, I learned that those girls and herself currently play D1 lacrosse at a somewhat big university.

Since the girl I thought was cute goes to my gym, would it be inappropriate to say hi and try to talk to her the next time I go to the gym? If not, what should I discuss in that conversation?
