Longer haired gents of r/AskMen , how do you style your hair?

I've been growing my hair for the past 3-4 months, and was looking on some suggestions/advice on how to style longer hair. For me, longer hair is anything that can easily goes below your eyes if combed/brushed straight down the face.
Edit: it's only the top of my head where I've been growing it out. When I go to get it cut, I usually ask for the sides really short and to neaten the top while keeping it as long as they can.
