Why are so many guys with beards so in-your-face about their beards?

Post Body

I use /r/kikpals a lot and sooooo many messages are from guys who never fail to mention their "glorious"/"magnificent"/"beast like" beard.

It's pretty much at the same level as the jokes about vegans and how they always let you know.

What gives?

I guess that makes sense. It just struck me as a little weird why they were so proud of facial hair but I understand sometimes it takes a lot of time and grooming so that makes sense too.

That makes sense. So I guess the "hey you, look my beard is awesome" guy is a different form of the "hey you, look at my gym body" guy.

The confirmation bias part could be true. I'll have to pay closer attention.
