How does this shaver work?

I got a Braun Series 5 a while ago. I cant figure out how this shaver works. Every time i tried it in the past the actual shaving was non existing. Any tips how to use this device? Used wet shavers so far and my beard is ~ 0,8-1,2cm long atm.
