What are some good ways to become a better conversationalist?
Post Body

I often experience people just sort of ignoring me and start talking about other things if I try to say something, or if I’m telling a story that is a bit longer than a few sentences then they just move on without me being able to get to the point or they completely misunderstand because I wasn’t able to finish. I don’t dominate any conversation to begin with so it means I get to say very few things. I’m specifically referring to talking with more than one other person, so a group setting.

And it’s not about What I’m talking about, because someone else might say the say the same thing (because other people stopped me giving another person the chance to say the same thing and then people will react in a way that implies they thought it was a good point etc). I’m soft spoken and not loud if that matters.
