Why Aren't Mustaches as Popular as Beards?

As a mustache enthusiast I have to ask: what happened to mustaches? These days, it feels like theyāre getting way less love compared to beards. Iām in the Northeast, and all I see are beardsābig ones, scruffy ones, ātrying-to-grow-a-beardā beardsābut almost no mustaches. Thereās something special about a well kept mustache that I miss in this new beard world.
Maybe this a regional thing? Or have beards just fully taken over as the facial hair of choice?
