What's something society still treats as taboo, but you think should be openly discussed?

I care. Fuck those people. I'm sorry that happened to you. If you need an ear I'll be a bro and listen.

Thanks. I fucking *will* cry about it. Because life is fucking *rough* and that's what humans do when something is painful or uncomfortable in any fashion. We cry. We're born crying. It's the most human thing there is. So FUCK anyone who belittles a man for crying. Let the tears fucking flow.

Punishment doesn't even prevent future crimes. In fact, it does the opposite, especially under the current system.

That's awesome :) I'm sure it'll take a lot of work, but it'd be great if the term is taken back. It *is* the world's oldest profession, as they say.

I think the idea is that teenagers' brains are still developing to the point where they literally can't make decisions while fully grasping the long term ramifications of their actions. It's a brain structure thing, and has nothing to do with intelligence or education. This is why we have an age of consent and why it's generally around 18 (although in truth the brain doesn't really stop developing until around age 26 or so.) Unless the science has changed in the past decade or so, since that's when I finished my degree in Psych.

Sex work. I think we're advanced enough as a society to simultaneously let people do what they want for a profession and free time, while also making sure those involved are safe through proper regulation and oversight. We allow businesses around drinking and gambling and sex work in places like Nevada, and those do just fine. I say decriminalize and legalize sex work at the federal level so it can be taxed accordingly and boost the economy massively.

Thank you for the thorough response. I'd love to answer your side note, but I cannot because I do not have the required experience to draw meaningful conclusions from to answer those questions.

I think we call it sex work now. Whoring has a demeaning connotation to it, unfortunately. But I still agree.
