My partner of 1 yr says he is happy not having kids(Iām childfree and got sterilized years ago) but when we first met his dating profile said āwants kidsā. He said he thought maybe one day heād want kids, he likes spending time with his nephews, but he said he just wants love and happiness and he finds that with me alone. But a part of me wonders if he still deep down wants that in his future and itās a ticking bomb, despite his reassurance us is all he needs.
In short, if you changed to childfree for your partner, have you maintained your childfree stance and are you happy with it, or do you have some latent wishes deep down, to have kids? I hope this isnāt the case for my partner

Thanks for sharing. I do think (some) men tend to think sometimes that having kids is the only way to have a marriage and then realize there are other ways to live life happily and that we donāt love in those times anymore where it was the expectation, and theyāre happy with life the way they have it. I also think they probably feel women to settle with will want kids
