Just saw a post on Instagram of a chef talking about how it your scheduled to start at 4, you should be ready to work at 4. Not show up at 4 and spend 15 minutes changing and getting ready. I agree with that. If it takes you 10-15 minutes to get ready to work, you show up early or you get ready at home before work. The comments were loaded with things like "I don't get ready for shit until my shift starts" and stuff like that. Now I'm curious, am I unusual in my thoughts of showing up ready to work or getting there earlier if it takes time to get ready for said work? I've always gotten annoyed by the idea of people getting paid to change clothes by getting ready on the clock and changing out of work clothes on the clock. What do you guys do?
