It's so hard to know.
I take great pride in being kind, courteous, and helpful. I will often volunteer to take on responsibilities when I see that my partner or a friend is overloaded. However, I'm starting to feel like I've painted myself into a corner. Many of the "extra" things I started doing evolved into things that I just do on the regular now.... often with little or no acknowledgement.
Of course, this also means that "new" extra things keep getting added. Sometimes, the request sounds like a question, but a very loaded one (this is partner-specific), and it's already presumed that I will do the thing.
I guess I'm just venting, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts. How do I know where to draw the line?
