Engine speed sensor fix?
Post Body

I ordered a new engine speed sensor for my car and it’s way too short (like a good 400mms too short). Normally this wouldn’t be a problem except the old sensor is already out and won’t go back in (I also live a half an hour drive out of town). Would I be able to cut the old sensor off and solder the new one on? I’m running out of options and have work in a days time.

It is a 1998 VW Golf GTI Manual (Agu 1.8T engine, done around 230 xxx kms)
