Just replaced faulty alternator, but even though car turns on now, there's a constant soft tak-tak-tak coming from the dashboard until I turn on the AC.

Do you know what that may mean? The car turns on just fine now, but that soft, medium pitch tacking sound is constant until I turn on the AC. And it may go off once I start driving, I just didn't drive it when I noticed it.
