I am always paranoid about getting ripped off at the mechanic's. I change my own oil, and if I don't I make sure its a new filter, I look at the dipstick, ect. I am buying new tires and considering buying a 5 year alignment package so when I get them rotated I will also have an alignment done. Its easy to check the rotation, but how do I know for sure an alignment is done?
I personally know folks that got ripped off, a cousin went to get tires rotated and the shop didn't even do that, he marked the tires and they were not. My mother got an oil change at the dealer and they forgot to put her cap back on. Based on my experiences you could see why I'm a little paranoid.
