Doing some shade mechanic work for somebody, hereâs the story: Installed a new alternator for a couple, they didnât want any diag just said hey can you throw this in, I installed no problem. They didnât have a battery at the time so I wasnât able to witness the car starting after. They just called me this week and were telling me how it dies at idle and only âputs out 11vâ when they measured it with a battery tester at the terminals on the battery. The car drives fine above probably 5 mph but stalls after idling for a little while.
Im planning on dropping by today to first measure the voltage off the alternator itself and then I guess just start checking grounds? I hate you your guysâ next steps be?
