Post Body

I have a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer 4.6 that has been sitting for about a year with no gas cap and was working fine when I parked it. I started the car thinking everything would be fine, it was running for about 5 mins. When I I rolled down the drive way the pedal had no acceleration. The car moves by itself and goes into gears (P,R,N,D,1,2,3) but it just doesn’t have power through the pedal. it goes up to 1000 rpm’s and sputters/ rough idles like it’s going to stall but doesn’t. it doesn’t actually go anywhere It barley goes above 2 mph. I bought a cap n put fresh gas in and tried to prime the system trying to boost the fuel pressure or something but it didn’t do anything. I also read it could be low on transmission fluid. Does anyone know anything about fords?
