Last week I had a dead battery. It's a new battery that is about 3 weeks old. I jumped the battery. No issues (wife doesn't use the car very much so I assumed somthing is draining it slowly.
Fastforward a couple days and we start the car, the rear hatch will not open, and the wrench light, ABS light and traction contol light are all on. In addition to the hatch ajar light. My Ford dealer says a leak at the drivers side keyless entry caused a blown fuse, which effected the hatch. Ok fine.
But they also say I need to replace the ABS module.
I find it odd that two completly seperate things involving electrical components happen at the exact same time, but are unrelated to eachother.
I am also disturbed that a car with only 44K miles needs a new ABS unit at a cost of about $2k. (Plus another $800 for drivers side keyless pad replacement).
What do you think Ford Mechanics?
