This is for a 2000 dodge ram 2500 with the 5.9L. I got the truck off my grandparents a month ago. They told me it had a power steering fluid leak but used stop leak fluid which fixed it. It’s been good for me until today when I found a large puddle of fluid under the truck. When I looked into it I found it’s leaking from where the pitman arm connects to the steering box, when the steering wheel is turned it pisses out fluid pretty badly. So I think I’m left with 3 options, either buy a new seal for $10 and replace it and see if that works, two remove the box and use a rebuild kit and try to rebuild it for $25, or 3 buy a whole new box for $350-$400 ish, I plan on doing the work myself and am on a budget, I’ll also be replacing my pitman arm as it’s pretty loose to begin with, what do you guys think?
