2000 ram 2500 with 146000 miles. I bought it recently and when I did I was told there has been a power steering leak for awhile but the owner has just kept topping up the fluid when it gets low. Suddenly while driving today my steering got really stiff and was like that the whole way home only getting better a few times, when I pulled up to my house there was a burning smell coming from under the hood which ended up coming out of the power steering reservoir, the reservoir is currently full too, the steering comes and goes but for the most part has been not working. Time for a new pump or should I drain All the old fluid out and refill it with new fluid, thanks

Edit-took it out after sitting for a few hours and it’s working good again. I put some stop leak in it a week ago and it’s been leaking less since
