So today I took my truck in for an insurance safety inspection(2000 ram 2500 v8). I ended up failing on a few points and a few of those were on a power steering leak that they claim is from the steering gear box. While it is a pretty substantial leak itโs been hard for me to verify where itโs coming from. One thing i noticed is that not only is the steering box covered in fluid but so is the shaft running up into the engine bay and the pump itself is coated in dirty fluid marks. If it really is a leak in the box would the fluid be shot up into the engine area and all over the pump or should I be focusing on hoses? Thanks
