Hi r/askmarketing! I am one interview away from being hired as the IT business partner for the marketing department of a very large FMCG company. I've been business partner for commercial (sales) functions in the same industry before, but not for marketing. Can I please pick your collective brains on how to make the best of this role as well as to ace the interview? Some ideas to prompt thoughts below.
In your ideal world, how does your company's IT function support the day-to-day of marketing professionals, outside of tech support?
What challenges do you see in working with IT?
What one thing does an It business partner have to bring to the table to be useful to you?
What are the key themes for marketing with and without special regard for technology?
Please answer as you wish any, all, or none of the questions. I may already think I know the answers to the above either from learning or experience but I'm looking for a general plurality of advice and insight so there is no irrelevant statement. I'd be very grateful for your help and advice, and directions to the right place if this is the wrong sub.
