Hello all, so for a little background I am 24 years old, and I work in distribution. Currently working a dual-role position of office work, and my old position of order fulfillment because we are short staffed, and we will not meet our deadlines without my experience being utilized. That said. I have made my interest in a supervisory role well known, and my managers keep telling me that they'd love to have me as a supervisor, yet have passed me up twice because it just isn't the "right time". Overall, I don't have much management experience, (8 months in a previous unrelated field) but I have around 3 years of distribution experience. I have a hand in nearly every facet of my department, and have used my very insight to shape the processes that we use daily over the past year that I've been with this company. My biggest downfall according to my first feedback from not being awarded promotion; I'm just too quiet. Hit a stride of personal growth, and I have overcome that issue well. Second feedback; I had a 2 week opportunity to work a split shift where I led a team of 2 new employees, and handed the team over at mid-shift to a supervisor with a less than stellar track record. 2 nights of the 8 I received some negative feedback about meeting goals which I took in stride, and assured my upper management that I would learn from the mistakes, and not let it happen again. By the end of my 2 weeks I received very positive feedback from the next shift that took over, and they thanked me for the easy transition of work. The negative feedback is all that was focused on, and I'm really just looking to grow as an individual, and make that growth appear outwardly so I can put this tarnish behind me. I know I can be, and will be a very effective supervisor given the time and training, but I need others to see what I see. Thank you in advance for your responses.
