I live in a working-class neighborhood adjacent to both Silverlake and Ktown, and occasionally we have tents on the block, I do not have a problem with these and that’s not what this post is about.
About two weeks ago a homeless man moved in, and I mean MOVED IN. He has an incredible amount of furniture, car parts and other miscellaneous stuff taking up a huge portion of the corner. This dude screams and flails around at all hours of the night, I’m scared to even walk from the street to my house most nights (I work at a bar, so I have to be out at night). I’ve seen him test car doors, and he screams and swears at the older residents on our block, everyone has stopped going on evening walks and the quality of life on the block has just drastically gone down.
How do I get the city to take this seriously? I’m worried because I don’t live in a rich neighborhood they won’t do anything. I want him gone and I’m willing to make whatever calls or log whatever complaints I have to, I just don’t know where to start.
