Long story short my Landlord and I had a Covid related fallout. She’s been sporadically having guest over inside the home in shared spaces. I’m hi risk for Covid complications due to a chronic illness. I asked her to please not have guest in the home and she was like ‘lol it’s my house...move’ I did remind her we’re paying tenants but she wouldn’t budge. So moving it is.
However my wife was exposed to Covid we found out days later and started self quarantining at home til she could get tested. We informed Landlord of the situation, Landlord had a guest over. I got sick and was in a bad way. I advised her to tell her guest because honestly I thought it was Covid and was preparing to go to the hospital. Turns out is was a false alarm (food poisoning, allergies and sinus problems rolled into one gnarly 48 hour period).
We work at the same place. She called the job to ‘inform’ them of her health probs but spilled the tea on mine ‘accidentally’. The VP of HR called me panicking after talking to her and now I can’t return to the office until I get tested for Covid. I feel like this is shitty because she knew I wasn’t planning on going to the office anytime soon and two that was MY personal information to disclose. I had reached out to my doc and after I heard from her I was gonna contact my job. What she did was a gross violation of my privacy and I’m appalled.
Right now I’m asking other Angeleos what should I do? This person was my friend so more than anything I’m beyond hurt. Wifey and I are trying to move ASAP but I feel a lil shook because she’s playing with my job AND my health. I just want the remaining time to be amicable but I’m worried she’ll try to evict us at any time. I’ve asked for a copy of our lease twice but she refuses to provide it and ignores my texts.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m just so lost. 2020 blows. Thanks for reading!
