Renters Insurance Issues because of Fires?

Post Body

I live in LA and saw all the horrible fires across SoCal a couple weeks ago. My lease is ending for my apartment and I luckily found a new place to live prior to the fires. Unfortunately, my renterā€™s insurance people are having so many issues updating my policy to my new place. Theyā€™re claiming thereā€™s a ā€œbindā€ across all insurance carriers due to the fire and all we can do is ā€œsit tightā€. However, my new landlord obviously does not want to give me the keys until I have a renterā€™s insurance policy updated for her. Iā€™m supposed to move next weekend but my insurance is saying they donā€™t know when this will be resolved. Iā€™ve already signed my lease and payed all my fees and now I am unsure if I can even move. Is anyone else in LA having this issue????
