I'm posting this on behalf of my girlfriend, a Pacific Palisades resident who is currently displaced along with their mother due to the fire.
They ask...
Have there been any lists compiled of non-essential things that evacuees don't have to pay for in the city? Like quality of life things that shelters aren't covering, or that are better than what shelters are providing?
I'm looking for the type of stuff generally NOT covered in the disaster relief resources lists I've seen making the rounds – less food, shelter, medicine, etc and more creature comforts. Things that would make post-evacuation life a bit easier and more pleasant, that someone who just lost their home probably wouldn't spend money on right now.
Examples of some things that would be helpful:
- brands giving out free, new clothes
- movie tickets
- dance or workout classes
- gym access
- museum admission
- art classes
- attraction passes
If people want to comment with resources they know of, I can compile them here.
I'll get things started...

Clothing:
- this weekend only: SUAY Sew Shop is offering clothing and more
- Aerie, a loungewear and active-wear brand, is offering free packages of tops, bottoms, PJs, bras, and underwear
- Brooklyn Projects is offering clothes, socks, shoes
- Coop boutique is offering clothing (and it seems like suitcases, backpacks, toys and art supplies for kids)
